U.S. Sees Faster than Average Job Growth for Cosmetologists
The U.S. Department of Labor expects the employment of cosmetologists to grow by 10% from 2014 to 2024.* That is faster than the national average for all occupations at just 7%. Increased demand for cosmetologists and other types of hairdressers and barbers will be a result of the increasing population. In general, the demand for more advanced hair and makeup treatments has also grown over the past few years and is expected to continue to do so. Due to this demand, it is more important than ever to attend a top beauty school.
“Overall job opportunities are expected to be good. A large number of job openings will stem from the need to replace workers who transfer to other occupations, retire, or leave the occupation for other reasons. However, workers should expect strong competition for jobs and clients at higher paying salons.”**
